In traditional Vedic architecture, the slope and gradient of land and building floors fundamentally dictate how subtle energy and water flow through a premise.

• The Golden Slope Rule: The ground level and floor levels should always be highest in the Southwest, followed by South and West, and lowest in the North, East, and Northeast.
• Water Runoff: Rainwater and household drainage should strictly exit towards the Northeast or East to ensure ongoing prosperity.
• Adverse Slopes: Land sloping towards the Southwest causes unnecessary financial losses and health complications; such gradients must be leveled or remedied.
• Plinth Height: Ensure the building plinth is elevated above the adjacent street level to prevent stagnation.
